The nursing home is just over 4,000 square metres and provides 60 new nursing spaces. The design is by HJARK architects under Hulda Jónsdóttir. The design places emphasis on sheltered outdoor areas, a homely environment, good working conditions for staff and facilities that support residents’ wellbeing.
The building is constructed using steel-frame technology, with units built indoors under the best possible conditions and assembled on site. The method delivers fast construction, greater predictability and high quality standards. Nuconic is building the property and Lumex is responsible for the lighting design. Vinnuvélar Eyþórs ehf. in Húsavík is carrying out the groundworks.
